The workshop with provide attendees with an introduction to current knowledge, skills and resources being used and associated with Emergency Management. And the workshop will provide insights into contemporary work being undertaken internationally on Disaster Risk Reduction in pursuit of implementation of the Sendai Framework, in various jurisdictions around the world. Of particular relevance to environmental health professionals will be the presentation of environmental health attributes in the context of emergency management and disaster risk reduction. With some coverage of risk assessment and managing hazardous materials in emergency situations and practical application of disaster risk reduction programmes, this promises to be a full and informative day giving attendees an introduction to emerging and challenging areas of management and preventative action.
