Dr Chris Lease is the Executive Director of Health Protection and Regulation at SA Health. This role oversees the health protection functions of SA Health.
During the COVID-19 pandemic he was one of three Deputy Chief Public Health Officers appointed in South Australia to assist in the COVID-19 response. Chris’ portfolio in that role was to support the South Australian Government put in place measures to help government and the community respond to COVID-19.
Chris' qualifications include a Bachelor of Applied Science (Environmental Health) and a PhD in microbiology, both from Flinders University of South Australia.
Chris has been involved in lecturing and research in health and environment-related fields at Flinders University.
