Jon Button is a Senior Environmental Officer (Noise) with the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation’s, Environmental Noise Branch. With 10 years’ experience in local government working in the environmental health field and an ‘ear for noise’, he was attracted by the technical nature of acoustics, joining the Environment Noise Branch in 2012. Drawing on his Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health and motivated by an appreciation of noise as an environmental health issue, Jon has taken a particular interest in population health costing of environmental noise exposure to assist in public policy decision making.
