Adam started his EH journey as a Student EHO in 1985, qualifying in 1989. He worked across the EH disciplines for an Inner London local authority until he left to join academia in 2004 as Senior Lecturer (Food Safety) with Middlesex University, where he remained until retirement in 2022.

During his professional life he has held various roles within the governance structure of Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, especially those associated with learning, and qualification.

He continues to have an interest in EH, especially at a global level.
