John Coles started his Environmental Health career after completing his Masters in the UK and working in a North Wales local government for 6 years before emigrating to the Kimberley in Western Australia in 2012.
John joined the State’s Department of Health within the Food Unit where he coordinated food borne illness outbreaks statewide and co-led the development of the Mobile Food Vendor Database within the System Performance Team.
During the Pandemic, John was seconded to the State’s Vaccination Program as the lead for Vaccine Management. John’s team was responsible for ensuring more than 250 clinics statewide had enough vaccine sourced from the Commonwealth to meet demand, and was responsible for ensuring the vaccine’s cold chain was not compromised across the great state of WA.
