Dr Barth is a public health expert with a vast array of skills and expertise in infectious diseases surveillance and prevention. He has led and contributed to multiple epidemiological studies and projects across Africa and Australia with a focus on Strep A infection, rheumatic heart disease, and skin health. Dr Barth currently works as a Senior Epidemiologist and Scientific Officer at the WA Department of Health where he oversees the operational aspects of disease control. He is also an Honorary Research Associate at the Telethon Kids Institute where he collaborates with world-leading experts in Strep A and rheumatic heart disease research.
