Australian health system’s resilience, preparedness and responsiveness to climate change need to be strengthened by addressing the environmental, social and cultural determinants of health. The HEAL (Healthy Environments And Lives) Network produces evidence for tackling the health effects and inequities related to climate change and environmental degradation. HEAL is structured into ten research themes and regional hubs covering all Australian jurisdictions. These hubs support communities of practice comprising researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and other community groups. HEAL prioritises Indigenous governance and community participation in the co-design of research, capacity building, and policy and practice.
