Description

The Public Health and Emergency Preparedness Workforce Roadmap, conceived in 2022 by the WHO and partners, aims to build global workforce capacity to deliver the Essential Public Health Functions (EPHFs) and Emergency Preparedness and Response (EPR) capacities. To achieve this goal, work on the Roadmap was divided into three action areas: revising the EPHFs, subfunctions, services and enablers; identifying the skills and competencies required to deliver the EPHFs and development of competency-based education tools; and mapping and enumerating the workforce. Over the next year, WHO and Roadmap partners aim to work with 100 countries to apply and implement these resources.
