Description

Hepatitis A is a viral infection which is notifiable in Australia due to its public health significance. It is primarily spread by the faecal-oral route with transmission being closely related to standards of food and water quality, waste disposal infrastructure, and hygiene practices. This presentation will explore the changing landscape of Hepatitis A in Queensland, Australia with the infection being associated predominantly with imported berries before the pandemic to it mostly affecting travellers visiting overseas family and friends in the post-COVID era.
